Christopher Lee

Christopher Lee will be in the spotlight at the BFI London Film Festival as he is set to receive the BFI Fellowship.

Lee has enjoyed a career that has spanned almost sixty years and the BFI Fellowship will recognise his work and his contribute to cinema.

He said in a statement: "It is a great privilege to be included amongst such a distinguished group of predecessors who have received this Award from the BFI."

Lee has starred in some iconic movies over his illustrious career including Dracula, The Wicker Man and The Man With The Golden Gun.

In more recent years we have seen the actor appear in the Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings franchise, as well as establishing a great relationship with director Tim Burton.

He has worked with Burton on numerous occasions and starred in Sleepy Hollow, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Corpse Bride and Dark Shadows.

Lee reprised the role of Saruman last year in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and will be back for The Desolation of Smaug and There And Back Again.

The actor will collect his award at the BFI London Film Festival Awards ceremony on October 19.
