Diablo Cody has admitted that she isn't bothered that her writing style may be seen as outdated in the future.
Cody shot to fame in 2007 when she penned the script for Juno, which saw her pick up the Best Screenplay Oscar.
In an interview with IFC she said: "No. I like when I watch an old movie and they make a reference to something random. Like, when you're watching Sixteen Candles, and they talk about [how] her dream gift is a pink Trans-Am.
"It puts the movie in a specific place, and it's kind of beautiful."
She has returned with a new movie Jennifer's Body, which stars Megan Fox, which has opened at number five at the American box office this weekend. But she admitted that a new script that she has been working on isn't what people will expect.
"Yeah, I already have. I wrote a script recently that's interesting because the characters are pretty quiet.
"They don't do a lot of talking in general, and they certainly don't employ the stereotypical Diablo Cody patois. I have no idea if it's good, but it was fun to write."
Jennifer's Body is released in the UK 6th November.
