Brad Pitt has walked away from the a role in Darren Aronofsky's new movie The Fighter which has raised questions as to whether the project will now go ahead.The actor was set to star opposite Mark Wahlberg, who has been training for two years for the role, in the boxing drama and Wahlberg has suggested that Pitt's departure has halted the project.But this isn't the first time that Pitt has left an Aronofsky project after he left the director's The Fountain in 2002, which went on to star Rachel Weisz and Hugh Jackman.Aronofsky's current movie The Wrestler is currently receiving critical acclaim on the festival circuit and was the winner of the Golden Lion Award for Best Film at the recent Venice Film Festival.Aronofsky's leading man Mickey Rourke is surrounded in Oscar hype for his performance and is expected to feature heavily in the award season that's just around the corner.Pitt is currently starring in the Coen Brothers' follow-up to their Oscar winning No Country for Old Men comedy Burn After Reading, reuniting him with George Clooney.He will next be seen in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button which is also gaining some award support.
