Benedict Cumberbatch has described J.J. Abrams as a 'wonder human being to be around'.
The actor teams up with the visionary filmmaker for Star Trek Into Darkness where he will be one of the new faces on the cast list.
And Cumberbatch had nothing but praise for the director and says that he has created a movie and a set to characters that the audience is going to really care about.
Speaking to The Huffington Post the actor said: "He's a wonderful human being to be around, JJ [Abrams] - on every level, as a dad, as a friend, as a director, as a musician. He's a polymath, he's a really talented human being.
"And he has time for everyone and it's all done with a really genuine interest in the story. So for all the bangs for your buck that you're gonna get with the film - which there are going to be aplenty - you have an investment.
"You care about what's happening to these characters, so it was really exciting."
It has not yet been revealed which character Cumberbatch will play but he will be joined on the cast list by Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban and Zoe Saldana - who will all be reprising their roles from the 2009 movie.
Star Trek Into Darkness is released 17th May 2013.
