Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter has ended the three week reign of Prometheus at the top of the UK box office.
The movie marks the return of Timur Bekmambetov to the director's chair while Benjamin Walker takes on the title role.
The film too over £1.1 million in it's opening weekend to hold off top competition from The Five-Year Engagement and Men in Black III.
There was no move for Men In Black III as the film spent a third week in the number two spot - grossing a further £1 million and has now taken over £18 million in the UK alone.
The Five Year Engagement sees Emily Blunt team up with Jason Segel for the new rom-com and it was a new entry in at number three.
The movie found itself in a three way battle with Men In Black III and Prometheus but had to settle with third and it too just over £1 million in it's opening weekend.
There was a three place drop for Ridley Scott's Prometheus as it dropped to four this week after reigning supreme for almost a month.
There was a also a two place drop for Snow White and the Huntsman while Rock of Ages was down two at number six.
Horror movie Chernobyl Diaries was another new entry at number five while Avengers Assemble dropped just a single place this week at number eight.
The Marvel superhero movie has now taken almost £52 million here in the UK and broke through the $600 million barrier in the States earlier this week.
Teri Meri Kahaani was the fourth and final new entry inside the top ten at number nine while there was no move for Top Cat: The Movie at number ten.
