Bobcat Goldthwait

Bobcat Goldthwait is most famous for his role as Zed, leader of a local gangs of thugs, in Police Academy 2: Their First Assignment back in 1985 but where has he been since?

He began his career in stand up comedy with television specials such as An Evening with Bobcat Goldthwait and Share the Warmth and Bob Goldthwait before moving into acting.

Police Academy was Goldthwait's first major movie role and throughout the mid to late eighties a string of comedy parts came his way including One Crazy Summer, Burglar with Whoopi Goldberg and Scrooged with Bill Murray.

Throughout the early nineties he worked in little known movies as well as making cameo appearances in the likes of Radioland Murders while still working on his stand up.

He moved into directing in 1991 with Shakes the Clown but really only concentrated on this part of his career since 2000.

He worked on a string of television shows including The Man Show, Crank Yankers before taking over ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live in 2004 until 2006.

He left the show to pursue his film career and Sleeping Dogs Lie was the follow up to 1991's Shake the Clown.

Melinda Page Hamilton stars as Amy, a young woman with a deep, dark secret, something very stupid that she did in college. Eight years later, as her relationship with John (Bryce Johnson) intensifies, she considers telling him what she did, as he believes in total honesty.

When she finally does, her entire world comes crashing down. Her rather strange mother (a very funny Bonita Friedericy) and hunk of a father (Geoff Pierson) won't speak to her; her drug-addicted loser of a brother, Dougie (Jack Plotnick), revels in her failure and agony; and John is not sure he can spend the rest of his life with someone who has committed such an outrageous act, even if it was a silly mistake that she regrets.

Amy, a teacher, finds solace in Ed (Colby French), a coworker going through his own marital problems, but everyone else has abandoned her.

The film was screened at the Sundance Film Festival and was nominated for the Grand Jury prize in the Dramatic Features category.

His next project is comedy World's Greatest Dad.
