So here a Female First we have come up with the top 5 raising actresses to look out for this year, yes some may have been around a bit longer then the last year, but we think they are consistently producing film after film and are set to be even bigger in 2010.
Anna Kendrick
Anna Kendrick has only just recently come to the attention of movie goers but the star has been around in the theatre since after 1998 when she started in the production High Society.
She then went on to get a Tony nominated for the role for best Featured Actress at the tender age of 12.
She then went on to make her film debut in the 2003 comedy-musical Camp and then went in to land her biggest movie then to date, the teen vampire romance, Twilight.
From there she went on to showcase her true acting ability, starring alongside George Clooney in the much anticipated Up In The Air.
This is set to solidate her as an actress and with rumours circulating that she may even be nominated for an Oscar, life couldn’t get much better for the young starlet.
With Up In The Air released next week and Twilight Eclipse later in the year, Anna shows no sign of slowing down.
She is also just wrapping up another two films I’m With Cancer and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.
Abigail Breslin
Abigail hasn’t just sprung to life this year, the young star has been around since 2002 and after landing a role in Signs, she then went on to star in The Princess Diaries 2.
The fourteen year old actress was the youngest ever actress aged 10 to be nominated for a competitive Academy Award Abigail when she played Olive Hoover in Little Miss Sunshine.
She has then go on to take movie role after movie role starring on Santa Clause 3, Air Buddies, Defiantly Maybe, Nim’s Island, My Sisters Keeper and the 2009 cult film Zombieland.
2010 sees her again bombard the big screen with her releasing The Tooth Fairy alongside The Rock, Quantum Quest: A Cassini Space Odyssey, Janie Jones and The Wild Bunch.
In 2007, she was ranked number 8 in Forbes Magazine's list of "Young Hollywood's Top-Earning Stars", having earned $1.5 million in 2006.
There seems to be no stopping Abigial after being in front of the camera since 3 years old, it seems like she is destined for great things as long as she doesn’t become the typical troubled child star that Lindsey Lohan and recently reformed Drew Barrymore.
Mia Wasikowska
Being plucked from the unknown by Tim Burton to play Alice Kingsley in Alice In Wonderland, the 20 year old actress is set for a whirl-wind ride to stardom.
Starring alongside Johnny Depp, Helen Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway and Crispin Glover she has learnt from some of the best in the business.
From the age nine to fifteen she trained as a professional ballet dancer training for 35 hours a week but it was the interests to expressed in acting aged 14 saw her become what she is today.
In 2004, she landed her first acting role with a two-episode stint on the Australian soap All Saints.
2006 saw her take her first film role in the Suburban Mayhem for which she received a nomination for a Young Actor's AFI Award..
In July 2008 after a long search she was cast as Alice which will see the 19 year old Alice returning to the Wonderland she no longer remembers, seeking her help to end the tyrannical rule of the Red Queen.
She then joined the case of The Kids are Alright playing the daughter of a same-sex couple who joins her brother in trying to find out who their real father is.
Just recently she has signed on to play Jane Eyre remade by BBC Films which will see her play another lead in a film Jane.
With her future mapping out nicely her dream of an actress is slowly but surely taking shape and when Alice is released worldwide she is sure to become a household name overnight
Saoirse Ronan
Saoirse Ronan came to our attention back in 2007 playing Briony Tallis in Atonement alongside Keria Knightly.
After receiving multiple award nominations for her role as the young Briony Tallis in the film it looked like we were seeing a new star born.
Since then she dropped off our radar altogether keeping a low profile only surfacing the play Lina Mayfleet in the City Of Ember back in 2008.
However the month of January sees her return to the big screen as she plays Susie Salmon in the 2009 film adaptation The Lovely Bones.
Peter Jackson initially cast her as an unknown but this soon changed when she became the seventh youngest actress to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Atonement.
Directed by Peter Jackson the films sees a young girl murdered and ending up in the in-between land of life and death, which sees her watching over her family and the way they deal with her death.
Dakota Fanning
The ultimate child star Dakota Fanning came to our attention in I Am Sam in 2001 and then went on to appear in high profile films such as Man on Fire, War of the Worlds, and Charlotte’s Web.
She then went on to play more adult roles starring in Hounddog and The Secret Life Of Bees.
Dakota has tried to keep a normal teenage life and was recently crowned home coming queen of her high school.
She returned to the big screen this year playing Jane in The Twilight Saga: New Moon which made her a hit with teenage fans.
She is set to reprise her role as Jane in Eclipse which is set for release in June 2010, before then though we will see her in The Runaways alongside Kirsten Stewart playing Cherie Currie the lead singer of the band.
It seems there is no slowing her down and her passion purely lies in acting and with 2010 looking like a fully packed year it seems that acting is something that she was born to do, and no amount of money or stardom will go to her head.
