Meryl Streep hasn't graced the big screen since It's Complicated, which is a super funny comedy that you should check out, last year.
But she is set to make a triumphant return in the New Year as she takes on the role of Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady
The role is already being talked about an Oscar prospect - and we all know how the Academy loves a biopic movie!
The movie sees Streep reunite with her Mamma Mia filmmaker Phyllida Lloyd as she is joined by an all star cast that includes Jim Broadbent, Anthony Head, Richard E. Grant and Harry Lloyd.
The Iron Lady is the story of a woman who came from nowhere to smash through barriers of gender and class to be heard in a male dominated world.
It is a film about power and the price that is paid for power, a story that is both unique and universal.
In a career that has been filled with great roles and performances this looks set to be another great turn that could see her walk away with another Oscar.
The Iron Lady is released 6th January 2012
