Miley Cyrus has taken the world by storm with her music career and her creation Hannah Montana. But now the teenager is setting her sights on developing her acting career.
She is back on the big screen this week in her for lead role in a none Hannah Montana movie The Last Song, which is directed by Julie Anne Robinson.
The movie follows rebellious girl who is sent to a Southern beach town for the summer to stay with her father. Through their mutual love of music, the estranged duo learn to reconnect.
So here are a few facts that you may not know about the movie's leading lady.
- Author Nicholas Sparks, who wrote The Last Song, credits Miley for coming up with the name for her character, Veronica ‘Ronnie’ Miller. Sparks says it sounded "Perfect" as soon as she suggested it.
- When she was a child, Miley used to go out and collect the flowers and homemade bracelets would throw on the stage as her father performed. Everything that was collected was donated to a local hospital.
- Miley wakes up at 5:00 a.m. every day and reads her Bible, then falls back to sleep. She calls it "Her time".
- In April 2008, People Magazine reported that Miley earned a million dollars per week for her previous 17-week tour
- She celebrated her sixteenth birthday party at Disneyland in California. The entire place was closed down on a weeknight, and each guest paid $250 to attend. All the money went to charity.
- Miley's godmother is singer/actress Dolly Parton.
- When she was little her dad called her ‘Smiley’, because she was always smiling. Eventually it was shortened and became Miley. In 2008, Miley officially changed her name from Destiny Hope to Miley Ray.
- Miley’s room has a garden theme and uses cream, turquoise, mint green and brown colours.
- Miley is an animal lover. She has many pets that include horses, dogs, cats, fish, and chickens.
- Miley stated that some of her goals in life are reading the entire Bible, opening a school for children with disabilities, paying her grandmother Mammie's bills, visiting sick children in the hospital in each of the 50 states, and to one day produce her younger sister Noah's first record.
- Miley says that Shania Twain is one of her favorite singers, because she is fun and not afraid to be different with her music
- Miley is a vegetarian, doesn't eat anything green and her favourite colours are green, pink and purple.
- Miley spends rainy afternoons watching chick flicks with her sister.
- Miley has written more than 100 songs, some of them can be heard on the Hannah Montana show.
