Holy Rollers is a project that struggled to get made and you have to wonder why it went into production in the first place.
I know that may seem a little harsh but this really is not a great movie and it has made number three on our countdown of the worst movies of the year.
To say that this is a true life story about drug smuggling this movie is surprisingly boring - I'm sorry but it absolutely bored me to death.
The plot crawls along at a snail's pace and the audience just never feels involved in the story of latches onto the characters.
These are gangsters and cancers that spend their life breaking the law - and yet seem surprised when it all goes wrong - sadly there's not much to like about any of them.
Unfortunately the script has that 'seen it all before' feel to it and it just lacks originality and really a spark of life.
This type pf crime drama should have had that feel of menace and danger around it - but you never felt like they were drug smuggling just going on holiday.
Jesse Eisenberg leads the cast, since making this movie he has gone on pick up a Best Actor for The Social Network, and he does do his best with what he has been given here.
He puts in a solid performance as the nervy Sam Gold but sadly he is not really given enough to shine - or save the movie.
It just lacked that tension and excitement of the crime drama and it is left feeling a little false and really very dull
