Ever since we had a little bit of sunshine we've been getting all excited about summer trends and when it's time to get them out of hibernation but this latest trend has us very worried and putting down that last biscuit...the dreaded crop top.
The spring/summer 09 featured many a bare midriff from bra tops at Prada to cut off sweaters at Alexander Wang and bustiers at House of Holland now plenty of celebrities have got on board baring their tums, from Hollywood's Zoe Kravitz and Mischa Barton to our own Daisy Lowe and Peaches Geldof. Better start them sit ups girls.
House of Holland teamed their crop tops with rolled up stonewash jeans for a real retro 80s look or for a girlier take on the style there were matching yellow crop tops and floaty skirts.
The cut off tops at Alexander Wang gave a nod to the luxe sportswear trend doing the rounds teaming the tops with baggy shorts or tracksuit bottoms. He did add a blazer jackets to one look to give casual a smart twist.
Prada proved this trend could look glamorous by teaming bra tops with high waisted pencil skirts, showing just a hint of flesh.

You don't have to have the stomach of Cheryl Cole and the confidence of Lady GaGa to try this look though, there is a cheats way to pull of crop tops.
Kate Bosworth has been spotted taking inspiration from Vivienne Westwood's Red Label show where models wore bra tops over T-shirts. Kate layered a crop top over her plain T-shirt to work this trend and the colour block trend in one go without a hint of flesh!
We think we'll work the cheats trend instead, pass the biscuits!
