A woman in her late twenties was killed last week when her Ugg Boot got trapped on a railway crossing leaving her helpless in the path of a speeding train.
The fashionable footwear turned fatal when it got trapped between the slats of wooden guard at the level crossing at Hythe station in Colchester, Essex.
Two men tried to desperately help the young woman but they couldnât free her in time. She was killed instantly by the 6.38pm National Express East Anglia train travelling from London Liverpool Street to Clacton-Sea, Essex.
Detective Inspector Terry Pearce of British Transport Police paid tribute to the two men who tried to save her. He told The Sun: âThis was a very valiant effort. They were very brave and we are very grateful not to be looking at two deaths or maybe even three.â
