It's the film fashion lovers have been waiting a lifetime for and last night New York's most stylish women finally hit the big screen.
**Warning: Contains Spoilers!!**
If you're off to see the film purely for the clothes then you won't be disappointed- the subtle hint of designer labels of the TV series have been swapped for a total fashion indulgence throughout the 2 and a half hour long movie.
Vera Wang, Vivienne Westwood, Christian Dior and Oscar De La Renta are all blatantly exhibited in a montage of the most unbelievably stunning couture wedding dresses just half an hour in.
Then the rest of the film continues along the same path with Louis Vuitton and Chanel bags popping up at regular intervals and a certain pair of Dior shoes making several appearances.
Carrie's wardrobe is in fact the most popular filming location with some of the most poigiant moments of the plot taking place within it...including Mr Big's innovative Manolo Blahnik proposal.
The best fashion-spotting scene has to be when the girls are packing away Carrie's closet as she prepares to move out of her old appartment. Carrie models some classic outfits from years gone by, including that infamous tutu dress from the opening credits of the TV series.
In fact there isn't one scene that isn't jam packed with designer names and to-die-for clothes, shoes and bags. Sounds like everything we wanted from the highly anticipated film, however it does leave you feeling slightly over-exposed.
Whereas the fashion in the TV series was always there to be spotted in the background, it seems everyone has been jumping on the Sex and the City bandwagon and the fashion has become the main focus of the film with everyone trying to cash in on the selling-power of our four favourite New Yorkers.
