Designer Angela Missoni was last night honoured at the Women's World Awards, Elle reports. Angela was among the 12 women to receive awards, hers been World Fashion Award.
Angela turned her family's knitwear business into a huge global fashion label known for it's signature striped prints. Missoni has also expanded into accessories, cosmetics and fragrances.
Missoni was founded by Angela's parents in 1953 and, after launching her own self-titled label in 1993, Angela took the reigns of the company in 1997 when her parents retired.
She is responsible for updating the look of the fashion house for younger customers.
Angela was not the only fashion face to receive recognition last night. Former supermodel Elle Macpherson, who has gone on to have her own lingerie line, won the World Career Award for her business achievements.
