Keeping fit and in shape doesn’t have to be a chore, if you can find an exercise you enjoy you want be annoyed you have to do it, you’ll look forward to it.
And there seems to be one fun way that’s definitely taking off, hula hooping.
Amazon.co.uk has seen sales of the brightly coloured hoops surge by 425% month on month, with the craze counting some high-profile celebrities among its fans.
Ollie and Cheska have been swiveling their hips and hula hooping in the latest series of E4’s Made in Chelsea and A-list Hollywood fans, such as Beyoncé and Zooey Deschanel, credit the new trend for their trim figures.
A current best-seller on the Amazon.co.uk Sports & Outdoor store is the ResultSport® Level 1 Foam Padded Weighted 1.2kg Fitness Exercise Hula Hoop which can help burn up to an impressive 300 calories per session.
“Celebrities often lead the charge when it comes to new fitness crazes with a number of well-known personalities recently endorsing hula hooping,” said Xavier Garambois, Vice President of EU Retail at Amazon. “Hula hoops offer an inexpensive workout that you can do at home or in the gym so it’s no wonder this is a key trend in the lead up to the holiday season.”
“Summer is the prime time for exercise trends to take off and this year, people are spinning their way to slimmer waists,” added Julian Monaghan, Sports & Outdoors Manager at Amazon.co.uk Ltd. “From smaller, weighted hoops for more intense workouts, to larger hoops for a lower impact session, hula hooping is a fun way to burn calories and stay in shape.”
