Sega has announced a 'Sonic Mania Collector's Edition' pack - but it won't be available to buy in Europe.
The special box was announced via the official Sega Facebook page and it includes a download code for the new title, a 12-inch statue of Sonic with a Mega Drive base that plays the famous "Sega" audio clip that featured at the start's of the company's titles when you flip the power switch, and a Sega cartridge cast with a golden ring - inspired by the collectables in the game.
The 'Collector's Edition' is already listed on retail site Amazon for pre-order in the US for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One priced at $69.99 to be received in Spring 2017 but as-yet it is not available to pre-order in Europe.
A statement released by Sega has clarified that, at present, the special pack will not be getting a Europe release.
The statement read: "The collector's edition for Sonic Mania has been announced; to confirm this edition is only available in North America. There is no information regarding a pre-order incentive for Europe at this time."
The Japanese gaming giant announced the launch of the new game in July.
Sega has teamed up with Pagodawest Games, Christian Whitehead, and Simon Thomley for a fresh instalment in what is one of the most popular video game franchises in history.
The relaunched game features classical visuals and gameplay, as well as original levels and re-worked versions of originals levels.
This means that fans of the original incarnation of the game, which first launched 25 years ago, should find the new launch to their liking, too.
What's more, Christian and Simon were crucial figures behind the remastered versions of 'Sonic The Hedgehog' and 'Sonic The Hedgehog 2'.
