Pamela Anderson chopped off her long locks because she wants to start a new chapter of her life after rekindling her elationship with her ex-husband Rick Salomon.
The animal rights activist, who recently rekindled her relationship with her ex-husband Rick Salomon, unveiled her chic new pixie cut this week after cutting off her trademark blonde tresses and says her dramatic makeover is symbolic of a fresh start.
Asked about what inspired the change, the 46-year-old actress told 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show': "I just thought, you know, my hair had had a life. And I wanted to kind of put that behind me and start fresh. And I thought it'd be good for the marathon. And it was."
The former Playboy model also proudly showed off the medal she got when she completed the New York City Marathon in Central Park last weekend and admitted the race was tough.
The mother-of-two said: "The last five miles were like giving birth. It was like giving birth and then being told to run as you're giving birth. It was so much pain. My hips! I don't know if women are meant to run, especially after giving birth."
Pamela completed the gruelling 26-mile run with her brother, Gerry, on Sunday (03.11.13), and raised $75,864 for actor Sean Penn's charity, the J/P Haitian Relief Organisation, which aims to save lives and bring sustainable programs to Haiti as it continues to recover from the 2010 earthquake.
