Lala Kent's newborn daughter "turned purple" and couldn't keep food down after her birth.
The 34-year-old reality star - who has three-year-old daughter Ocean with her ex-fiancé Randall Emmett - had her second child, a little girl named Sosa, earlier this month, and has now detailed the terrifying health scare the tot faced in her first days.
Speaking on her 'Give Them Lala' podcast, she said: “The cord was wrapped around her neck a couple of times.
"She goes out and I go to embrace my baby but she does one cry and then it stops."
It turned out Sosa had "swallowed a lot of amniotic fluid", which is a cushion for the growing fetus and facilitates the exchange of nutrients between mother and baby.
The 'Vanderpump Rules' star said: “She had so much fluid in her that she was vomiting all the food out."
Doctors were extremely concerned by the sheer amount of liquid and wanted to refer her to a surgeon.
The mother-of-two recalled: "They’re like, ‘We want a surgeon to look at her because this isn’t normal'.
"'We’ve got 10 millilitres of amniotic fluid out of her stomach the first time. Then we got another eight.'"
Fortunately, she did not require any further treatment, and Sosa has been steadily gaining weight.
Lala used a sperm donor to have her second child because she didn't want to wait to find a "baby daddy".
She explained on an episode of the Bravo series: "I want another baby so badly. My child is like fully speaking. She's very excited about the thought of a sibling.
"I don't want a baby daddy. It's not happening. There's no changing my mind.
"I know this is not the norm, and I just feel like going the donor route is the right decision for me.
"I want an absolute with this baby. No matter what, this is my baby. No one can ever come in and take it from me. I don't have to share it on Christmas Day. Just mine."
Meanwhile, Lala also admitted she wants "many" children in various ways, while she's not ruling out having a baby with a partner again in the future.
She added: "I think I'm going to get a sperm donor, I'm going to have this baby. Then I'd like to adopt a baby. If I meet a guy later on we can have a baby."
Lala announced Sosa's birth with a brief post on her Instagram Story, which simply read: "Welcome to the world, my love. 9.3.24."
