The 68-year-old rock star lost his wife Nora Forster when she died in 2023 at the age of 80 following a battle with Alzheimer's disease and shortly after that had to deal with the death of his best friend and manager but is hoping to be able to move forward with his grief by going on tour with his show 'I Could Be Wrong, I Could Be Right' because he refuses to sit around in a state of "self-pity".

Speaking on UK TV show 'Loose Women', he explained: "I've got no idea what I'm gonna be doing except there'll be two major pieces. One will be about the loss of my lovely Mrs and showing old photos and just what a nutcase she was. And of course my best friend ever and manager Johnny Rambo Stevens, who I miss dearly. Both of them.

"It's like I've lost my left and right wing but somehow I think going on stage and telling my life story might somehow help me.

"I am closer to realsing the comedy and the love and the humour of those people than I have been. It's taken a year really where it...I hit the bottle and it just didn't get me drunk so I no longer do that.

"You go through all these phases. Ultimately, I've found out that it's not people coming round and commiserating with you that helps. It's when you're alone and you figure it out. My mum and dad didn't raise foolish children, they always told us 'No self-pity!' because all that does is arm your enemies."

The former Sex Pistols star - who was known as Johnny Rotten during his heyday with the band - will be making his way around the country in his campervan and thinks that it is the best way to go when it comes to being on the road.

He said: "I love travelling in a campervan. It's the greatest way to tour. I can snooze at the back with a bottle of brandy if I wish and go to the toilet. Hotel bookings being what they are - usually cancelled - at least I've got somewhere to sleep for the night!"
