Ann B. Davis has died aged 88 after a fall at her home.
The 'Brady Bunch' actress - who portrayed housekeeper Alice Nelson in the classic TV series - passed away yesterday (01.06.14) morning aged 88 after hitting her head in a fall.
Her friend Bishop William Frey told CNN the veteran actress was taken to hospital in San Antonio, Texas, after suffering a subdural haematoma in the fall but never regained consciousness.
Paying tribute to Ann, William said: "She was a wonderful, smart, funny woman. She was Alice."
Ann's former 'Brady Bunch' co-stars Maureen McCormick and Eve Plumb are among those to have paid tribute to her following the sad news.
Maureen told The Hollywood reporter: "I admired Ann B. so much as an actor. ... She was one of the greats. Most of all, I admired her heart. She was a dear friend ... deep, honest and true.
"She was one of my earliest role models, and that continues to this day. She made me a better person. How blessed I am to have had her in my life. She will be forever missed."
Eve added: "Ann was an amazing lady. She was great to work with, and I have wonderful memories of our scenes together on 'The Brady Bunch'.
"She was kind and generous to all of us on set. Although we hadn't seen each other as often as we may have wanted to in the last few years, I am sure she knew she held a very important place in my heart. My thoughts are with her family and friends."
As well as her role in 'The Brady Bunch' - which ran from 1969 to 1974 - Ann was also known for appearing in 'The Bob Cummings Show', which ran from 1955 to 1959 and in which she played Charmaine 'Schultzy' Schultz.
Her last credit came in 1997 in a guest role on the sitcom Something So Right'.
The actress, who never married, is survived by her twin sister.
