Amanda Bynes could be in involuntary psychiatric hold until 2015.
The troubled star is currently under the 5150 hold after being arrested for starting a small fire outside a friend's home last month, and her lawyer is said to have requested her trial to be postponed for up to a year and a half - apparently until she is out of care.
According to TMZ, the 27-year-old actress' representative was appearing in a New York City court today (26.09.13) with regards to an earlier case where Amanda allegedly threw a bong out the window of her apartment.
The lawyer requested the case be postponed until Amanda is no longer receiving psychiatric treatment.
The gossip site reports that the case will likely be plea bargained because of weaknesses in the prosecution's case - which means it could be dropped altogether.
A source previously insisted the 'Easy A' star has been making "significant improvements" and is doing all she can to "get better".
The insider had said: "Amanda has made significant improvements, she is doing better than she was.
"There are no drug problems involved, it's all mental. She has deep anger and PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), which tripped a psychotic episode... She is very ill, but manageable.
"Amanda genuinely wants to get better and has wanted to get better for some time."
