FHM is pleased to announce Rosie Huntington-Whiteley as the winner of FHMs 100 Sexiest Women in the World 2011 poll in association with VO5 Extreme Style. The model and actress has sensationally stolen the crown from two-time winner Cheryl Cole.
Winning the coveted Sexiest Woman in the World crown is the latest in a series of great achievements for Plymouth-born Rosie.
The 24-year-old, who is dating actor Jason Statham, has scooped top modelling contracts with lingerie giants Victorias Secret and Agent Provocateur and she replaces Megan Fox as the female lead in the upcoming Transformers: Dark of the Moon.
Commenting on her win, Rosie said: Wow. Thanks for voting guys, Im so flattered to be FHMs Sexiest Woman in the World. This is a really exciting year for me and I hope you all enjoy Transformers 3.
Rosies victory marks another victory for the Brits. X-Factor judge Cheryl Cole made history in 2010 by becoming the first British woman to win the prestigious accolade for two consecutive years.
Only two Brits have won the title during the polls 17-year history: Keira Knightley in 2006 and Kelly Brook in 2005. Sadly Cheryl failed to complete the hat trick and only managed 12th
Katy Perry takes second place this year knocking former 2008 champion Megan Fox back into fourth. The singer, who married comedian Russell Brand in October, is proving a hit on both sides of the Atlantic and jumped a huge 35 places to cement her top ten spot. Fellow pop princess Rihanna also rocketed up the ranking, climbing 40 places to third. Its the first time either star has made the top ten.
This years top ten sees new entries from Just Go With It actress Brooklyn Decker at number six and footballer Cristiano Ronaldos Russian model girlfriend Irina Shayk at ten. New mum Abbey Clancy drops out from 10 down to 28.
Its no surprise that newlywed Kate Middleton enjoyed a massive surge of popularity this year. The Princess entered the list previously with a number 25 ranking in 2007. With a new army of male admirers under her belt Kate, the only royal represented in the list, re-enters this year at 39.
Prince Harrys on-off girlfriend Chelsy Davy also enjoyed a comeback but couldnt rival Kate. The South African party girl previously hit 76 in 2008 and this year just edged back in to the top 100 at number 96.
Saturdays favourite Frankie Sandford slides from four to 22 leaving mum-to-be Kelly Brook as the only other Brit in the top ten. Kelly, who has now appeared in the top ten for two consecutive years, ranks eighth, slipping just one place.
Former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger continues to celebrate her solo popularity with her first ever top ten ranking. The singer, who has been dating F1 ace Lewis Hamilton since 2007, takes ninth spot. Tron: Legacy actress Olivia Wilde and stunning Victorias Secret model Marisa Miller take fifth and seventh place respectively.
Dr Who actress Karen Gillan is flying the flag for Scotland; shes a new entry at number 42. Other newcomers include bisexual Price Tag singer Jessie J (55), X Factor alumni Leona Lewis (94), reality star Kim Kardashian (15), model Daisy Lowe (29) and Glee actress Lea Michele (47).
Daybreak host Christine Bleakley gets a nod again this year but the Northern Irish TV presenter slipped down eight places from 85 at number 93.
Frankie Sandford remains officially the hottest member of The Saturdays at 22 with Irish beauty Una Healey following behind. Una dropped 22 places to number 41 this year while Rochelle Wiseman, Mollie King and Vanessa White all failed to feature in the top 100.
Meanwhile Sarah Harding is once again the second highest ranking member of Girls Aloud at number 36. Nadine Coyle (46) jumped thirteen places, while bandmates Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh were overlooked for a third year.
It was another strong year for British actresses. Gorgeous Inbetweeners actress Emily Atack jumped a massive 44 places taking her to a very respectable number 18. Emilys co-star Hannah Tointon also makes her debut this year, in at 85. Both actresses appeared on FHMs October 2010 issue cover along with fellow cast member Emily Head. Belinda Stewart-Wilson, best known for playing Wills mum, also enters the list for the first time at number 64.
Harry Potter star Emma Watson made it in to the top 50 for a third second year running jumping six places to 23.
In soapland Hollyoaks beauty Jorgie Porter wins the battle of the TV hotties. She makes her debut at number 50 this year overtaking Jennifer Metcalfe who suffered a 25 place fall but managed to remain in the list at number 71. Coronation Street favourite Michelle Keegan improved on last years ranking by jumping four places to number 26 but co-star Helen Flanagan posed no threat, she narrowly missed out on a place this year.
The most notable exclusion from the 2011 100 Sexiest is Jennifer Aniston who dropped out of the list for the first time since 1996. The Friends star first entered the top 100 at number six and rose to number two by 1997. Jennifer, now aged 42, was ranked 81st in 2010 but this year failed to register enough votes to place.
Keeley Hazell was also overlooked despite having been a regular top ten fixture since 2007. The glamour model, once linked with comedian David Walliams, peaked at number two in 2007 and never slipped below fifth place.
Lily Allen, Welsh beauty Charlotte Church, actress Sienna Miller, N-Dubz star Tulisa Contostavlos and X Factor winner Alexandra Burke were also among the stars that dropped out this year.
Each 100 Sexiest poll uncovers some more unusual celebrity crushes and this year is no exception. National treasure Helen Mirren, 64, notched up more than a few nods as she continues to represent the more mature sexy woman.
Now in its 17th year, FHM's 100 Sexiest Women in the World poll is the original and biggest search for the sexiest women in the world. This year over one million votes were cast by FHM readers worldwide.
Stuart Hood from FHM commented: Queen Cheryl is dead and succeeding her on the throne is a British sensation who is no stranger to stepping into the high heels of the worlds most attractive women.
"In the last 12 months, actress and model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has replaced Kelly Brook in Jason Stathams heart and replaced Megan Fox in Transformers, and now shes replaced Wor Chezza as the planets most lusted after female. Some year.
Not that Rosie had things her own way. Strong showings from Katy Perry, Rihanna and actress Olivia Wilde give this years poll a very American flavour, while the high rankings of less widely known swimsuit models Brooklyn Decker and Irina Shayk highlight either just how internet-savvy British men have become or just how obsessed with WAGs we still are. Decker is married to American tennis star Andy Roddick and Shayk dates Cristiano Ronaldo.
