Stockholm Syndrome

Stockholm Syndrome

Stockholm Syndrome is the story of Dan, a bodyguard who never wanted to work for a celebrity in the first place, and Bryan, the young, talented and very successful Hollywood star who hides a dark secret. Yes, you’re right, this isn’t the most original plot but there are a couple of twists that I bet you won’t see coming. And Bryan is a guy who not only makes tough bodyguard Dan fall for him despite his better judgement—he will also make you want to wring his neck right before giving him a big hug.

You like to hear from your readers, so how important is it for you to keep in touch?

It is very important for me to keep in touch with my readers, some of whom have become very good friends. Like many writers, I’m a bit of an introvert and sometimes find it hard to take the first step, but I can often be found chatting on Facebook and my email inbox is always open.

What is the best feedback you have had from a reader?

It’s hard to single out a “best feedback” from the many wonderful comments I’ve received, but I can tell you one thing: Sometimes writing is a frustrating and lonely occupation, and there’s nothing like getting a couple of lines from a reader who has made the effort to get in touch and say that they loved my books.

Which man in your stories would be the perfect one for you?

I’ve been thinking about this question for a full twenty-four hours and I still don’t know the answer. All I can say is that if my characters were real, I’d be a polyamorist.

To what extent do you think that we can’t choose who we fall in love with, like Daniel and Bryan?

I think sometimes we meet people who have an impact on our lives, whether we want them to or not, whether it fits our principles and plans or not. A reviewer pointed out that Dan really should have known better, as he made the same mistake before—but that’s the point. Some people have the power to make us forget everything we believe in just so we can be with them.

What is the appeal of a man in uniform in fiction?

I can only guess, but I’d say there are two explanations for this phenomenon. Firstly, a strong, authoritative man is simply hot and secondly, because it’s fascinating to see the person behind the uniform.

Your last story was the result of someone telling you about their past, so does this have any bearing on the real world?

As always with my stories, there are bits and pieces in Stockholm Syndrome that are inspired by actual events or people, but I doubt that anyone would recognise them unless they know me very well.

Who are your favourite reads?

There are many fantastic and talented writers out there and naming just a few favourites always seems unfair to me, especially since I have a long list of authors whose books I have yet to read.

What is next for you?

I’m currently about to finish writing the last two books in my brand new Nightmares series which will be published by Total-E-Bound starting in October (pre-order begins September 20th). This series combines gay porn with demons and is full of the naughtiest characters and the hottest scenes I’ve ever written—including the infamous multi-man pile-up.
