Usher went to Radio 1 yesterday to perform an intimate gig in the live lounge for his fans. Usher has sold a massive 65 million records and won 7 Grammys in total. He’s got a brand new album out called ‘Looking For Myself’ which came out on the 8th of June. He’s worked with some big names such as Diplo, Labrinth and Salaam Remi who used to produce Amy Winehouse. Usher sadly seeked out Salaam to work with Amy but unfortunately they never managed to work together before she died. They had a chat whilst they were walking round the huge department store Selfridges in London. Usher was reflecting about the possible collaboration and said "It could have been one of the most incredible records ever," he said. "A voice like that comes once in a lifetime." Usher’s been busy recently promoting his new album, not only at Radio 1 in the UK, but also at a Broadway show in New York called ‘Fuerza Bruta.’ He was suited and booted, busting some pretty impressive dance moves and then at the end he was joined by a female dancer while the two of them did some saucy dance moves – standard! He was performing his track ‘Scream’ and it sounded pretty impressive. There’s also a lady suspended above him in a bubble with water splashing around her while Usher is dancing and singing like his life depends on it! If like me you really need to see this you can catch parts of it on his new video for his song Scream. If you’re wondering what to expect from his seventh album, Looking for Myself, it’s been described to range from electronic dance music to folk-rockers Mumford & Sons fused seamlessly with R&B. Professional ratings for his new album vary between three and a half stars to four out of five which is pretty high.
