So when you’re rich, famous and have been married to one of the hottest women in the world, it must take an awful lot to get you excited. Well, how about having a village named after you? How about having LOTS of villages named after you? It sounds a little bit bonkers, but that is exactly what’s happened to Ashton Kutcher. To celebrate the return of 2 and a half men on Comedy Central, several villages in the UK have changed their names to include the word “Ashton” in the title. You can now ‘drive carefully’ through Ashton Hayes in Cheshire, Ashton Under Hill in Worcestershire, Ashton in South in Northamptonshire and Ashton Keynes in Wiltshire. Residents of the villages were notified when a leaflet was posted through the door which read “congratulations! Your village has now been names Ashton Kutcher” The villages seem to have taken the spoof a little seriously though, as signs have been changed to “Ashton Kutcher”, flower beds have been changed to feature his name and there is now even a pub called the Ashton Kutcher Arms serving Ashton Kutcher Ale. Bizarre! The makers of the show have admitted it was all a stunt, but Comedy Central’s Bill Griffin says if any of the villagers are offended or inconvenienced he’ll stand them a drink in the Ashton Arms! We’re not sure if Ashton was excited, or wierded out by this event, but he took to twitter to say “at least theyre carbon neutral, Villages change their names to ashton kutcher” One local resident from Ashton Keynes said “we’re a bit light on celebrities in this village so actually, if we could have Ashton Kutcher as our own that would be fantastic” something tells us they shouldn’t hold their breath
