Russell Brand has talked about his divorce for the first time after that statement was released announcing the end of his marriage to Katy Perry. Russell was at a press event in America which was meant for him to promote his new TV show, but of course he could not avoid the big story about his relationship at the moment. He did though just try to confuse everyone with big words and posh quotes. One reporter asked him how he was. Russell replied with "I am quite well, thank you. Are you asking because of recent events? Well I suppose what you're doing is you're making the mistake of seeing time as linear. The brilliant American author Kurt Vonnegut, he'll tell ya that if you imagine reality as experienced simultaneously, events become redundant." Are we the only ones confused? Hope not. He was obviously talking like that to stop anymore questions. He also then made it clear that he didn’t want any questions related to his divorce and said: "I don't want to further celebrate the overly elaborate, brittle plastic structures of nonsense that are constantly fired into our minds to distract us from what's really important. So if I'd done something actually newsworthy... then I'd cover it. But if it was just more lacquered nonsense, designed to distract us from truth, then I would wisely ignore it." Again, is he saying that his marriage isn’t true, or isn’t important, or have we misunderstood? Who knows! Russell filed for divorce from Katy Perry at the end of December, after just over a year of marriage. There had been rumours that they’d had problems for a while, which the couple had always denied. Nobody is quite sure how or why they split, and it seems that Katy may have not given up hope. She was spotted leaving a photoshoot in California and wearing her wedding ring. There are rumours that she still has faith the couple could be together and doesn’t want to give up on the marriage.
