Ronan Keating's first wife didn't "get" him the way his current spouse does. The 39-year-old singer split from spouse Yvonne - the mother of his children Jack, 16, Marie, 15, and Ali, 10 - in 2010 after 12 years of marriage and thinks tying the knot so young meant the model didn't understand him in the "important" ways his new wife Storm Uechtritz connects with him. He said: "No [Yvonne] didn't [get me]. "Maybe in some ways she did, but not in the important ways. "Partly that's because we got married very young and I didn't really know myself either. "With Storm, I've found somebody who understands me and loves me for who I am. That's a great feeling." And the Boyzone singer even hinted he regretted tying the knot the first time as he made a number of decisions that weren't "right" for him. He told new! magazine: "Being in a boyband at 16, I did what I was told. "I tried to be the person people wanted me to be. "That, and losing my mother very young, and my brothers and sisters emigrating to America, was quite a big deal and it takes a lot of time for that to sink in. "So I made decisions that weren't necessarily right and I got married very young." Now he has settled down with Storm - who he wed last August - Ronan finally understands what being in love should feel like and can only see now that he didn't have it in his first marriage. He said: "It's like the curtains have been pulled back and the light's come in. "It's that wonderful feeling of understanding and all of it starting to make sense. "You start to feel how you're supposed to feel when you're in love. It was terrible, I didn't realise until I was out [of that situation] that I wasn't what I felt I was. "Now I feel like this is the time of my life. I feel like I'm in my prime and I've met somebody who makes me feel secure."
