Peter Andre has been doing some good again... he’s one celebrity who will certainly go to heaven. He was in London to launch the new ‘love libraries’ scheme, set up to help encourage people to read. The scheme recruits people to help with reading, literacy and getting people online, and it is set up by Team London. This explains why Pete was at the event with London Mayer Boris Johnson. Pete certainly looked a lot more tanned and buff than him! Pete spoke about reading to his kids and said: "That last 15 minutes before children go to sleep, that's what they're going to remember through the night. That's why it's bad if they've been playing a video game or something like that, but if they've been listening to a book they'll wake up feeling clear. That's why reading's so important, I'm a strong believer in that." Peter Andre had a few photos taken and then had a tour of Shepherd’s Bush library. He couldn’t really say anything else, but he did say the predictable that he was impressed with the place. He said: "This is like a whole new generation of libraries. I can't believe they've got a celebrities section. I used to take my kids to places where there were books, but not libraries, because it made them feel too much like they were at school again. But what I'm seeing here is that they're making it appeal to younger children. It's critical that kids learn to read and enjoy it because they're going to have to do it anyway." It’s quite convenient that Peter is getting involved in things like this – it was only last week that he revealed plans to write some childrens books.
