Lance Bass leads tributes to Celine Dion's late husband René Angélil. The former *NSYNC star took to Twitter to offer his condolences to the 'My Heart Will Go On' hitmaker and her family as they mourn the loss of her former manager after a long battle with throat cancer. He said: "My heart breaks for @CelineDion tonight. My thoughts are with the family. (sic)" Whilst Donny Osmond added: "My heart breaks for LV "neighbor" & friend @CelineDion. Extremely saddened 2 hear about Rene's passing. #ReneAngelil (sic)" Avril Lavigne offered the family "strength and peace" writing, "Sending Celine Dion and her family my love and prayers for strength and peace. #peace #love #light (sic)" LeAnn Rimes sent her prayers, tweeting: "My heart and so many prayers go out to the sweet @celinedion She has the biggest heart that I'm sure is broken. R.I.P. Rene' #RIPRene" Whilst Gloria Estefan paid tribute to her "great friend". She wrote: "RIP Rene Angélil, great friend & human being! The world will take @celinedion &ur boys into its arms & continue 2 love & care 4 them 4 U. (sic)" Meanwhile, René's tragic death - at the age of 73 - was confirmed in a statement. It read: "Rene Angelil, 73, passed away this morning as his home in Las Vegas after a long and courageous battle against cancer. The family requests that their privacy be respected at the moment; more details will be provided at a later time."
