Lady Gaga has "temporarily shutdown" her Twitter account. The 'Telephone' singer has shocked her 39 million plus followers by removing her profile picture from the social networking site, replacing it with the default egg symbol, and posting a message which states she is staying off the website for now. Her profile description reads: "This interface has been shutdown temporarily. Please check back for updates." Speculation is now rife Gaga has started the promotional push for her upcoming third album 'ARTPOP'. The 27-year-old pop superstar also deleted tweets from February - just before she postponed several 'Born This Way Ball' tour dates due to a hip injury, which required surgery. Last month, Gaga topped Forbes' World's Most Powerful Musicians of 2013 list and her huge amount of Twitter followers contributed to her position. The ' Born This Way' hitmaker topped the annual ranking - which is determined by earnings, social media influence and press mentions - largely thanks to her 'Born This Way' world tour grossing a massive $168 million and her prolific use of social media. As well as having over 39 million Twitter followers she also has 57.9 million Facebook fans.
