We all know and love Kate Winslet don't we from films like The Titanic, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and it was no surprise that she won an Oscar at the Golden Globes for The Reader and Revolutionary Road. All her hard work and talent has finally paid off and she's now due to receive a CBE from the Queen as recognition for her "significant contribution" to the British film industry. She'll receive the award later this month alongside Gary Barlow from Take That, he'll be receiving an OBE for his services to music. Kate originally shot straight into fame following her role as 'Rose' from The Titanic alongside Leonardo Dicaprio playing a spoilt rich girl who fell in love with a boy from a poor background much to her Mum's distaste! This year it was a hundred years since the Titanic originally sank so to mark the Anniversary the film Titanic came out again but this time in 3D. Kate said in a recent interview that she's absolutely sick of hearing The Titanic theme tune which was sang by Celine Dion 'My Heart Will Go On.' She said that it's often played as her entrance music and inside her head she does an inner eye roll! I can see how that could get pretty annoying! Kate is supposedly dating Richard Branson's nephew Ned who bizarrely changed his surname to Rocknroll! She met him when she went to Richard Branson's sixty million pound private island in the Caribbean last year. Ironically the island is called 'Necker Island.' She went with her on off ex-boyfriend Louis Dowler who's a model and ended up with a souvenir to take home! That wasn't the only reason why it was an eventful trip, while she was there a big fire swept through the house trapping Richard Branson's ninety year old Grandma and Kate bravely helped Richard carry her out of the house to which he is eternally grateful for. She was a real hero! So back to Kate's love life, it's never really been very successful for her in the past... In 1991 she met a writer called Stephen Tredre and they split up after four years. She stayed close to him after the split and that's why she missed the London Premiere of the Titanic as he fell ill and she wanted to be by his side. Kate married Jim Threapleton in 1998 after the they dated for a year. Their marriage only lasted three years but she gave birth to their beautiful baby girl and called her Mia. Kate married film director Sam Mendes in May 2003. They had a son together, Joe and then they split up seven years later. Kate is busy at the moment and she is filming Jason Reitman's adaptation of Labour Day with Josh Brolin.
