John Boyega visited a seriously ill 'Star Wars' fan in hospital on Friday (11.03.16). The 23-year-old actor delighted five-year-old Daniel Bell - who is a huge fan of his character Finn, the rebel stormtrooper in 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' - when he visited him at The Royal London Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment for a brain tumour. Dressed in Finn's standard military uniform of the First Order, the little boy crossed lightsabers with the London-born star, who said he had "jumped" at the chance to meet him. Speaking about surprising Daniel after he was contacted by children's charity Rays of Sunshine, who grant the wishes of seriously ill children, John said: "When I heard about Daniel's wish to meet Finn, I jumped at the chance to make it come true. It was fantastic to be a part of his very special wish with Rays of Sunshine. "It was also great to meet the children at The Royal London Hospital and be a part of something so positive." Daniel's mother, Rosalind, who contacted the charity, was amazed that the actor took the time out to spend with her son, and took to Facebook on Saturday (12.03.16) to thank the star. She penned: "Thank you so so much Rays of Sunshine and John Boyega for granting Daniel's wish to meet Finn and take toys to the hospital. It was just amazing, I have no words! Daniel is still totally overwhelmed, I have never seen him so happy." Since becoming an internationally-recognised star, John said he has felt the "love" from fans worldwide and previously declared he would meet fans to say thank you. He previously said: "I'm gonna go over to a few theatres in Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, and I'm gonna meet some people, you know, just say thank you. This is big, and I feel the love, I really, really do."
