Hugh Jackman says skin cancer is "not as scary" as he initially feared. The 'Wolverine' star, who has had three surgeries on his nose since being diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma in 2013, insists he isn't worried about having to manage the condition for the rest of his life. The actor said: "It's always a bit of a shock just hearing the word 'cancer'. Being an Australian it's a very common thing. I never wore sunscreen growing up so I was a prime candidate for it. "I used to think if I didn't come back with a little bit of colour, it's not a real holiday. I know the reality now: it's stupid. If you get colour, you are going to damage your skin on some level. In the old says, sometimes they'd ask me to get tan for a role, but now I spray-tan if I need it."
