It is award season and amongst the actors and singers who are receiving gongs left right and centre is an award for Hugh Hefner. No, he doesn’t have a Grammy or a BAFTA or an Oscar, but he has been named as Humanitarian of the Year. It’s the organisation Angelwish which have given him that title, and we do have to say that we find it a little odd that a charity which does such good work for children with chronic illnesses is anything to do with Hugh Hefner – a man who has a house full of half naked women. He obviously has a softer side to him that we don’t see a lot. And the ceremony might not have had performances from some of the biggest names in the music industry, but it was still star studded. Hugh Hefner got presented with the honour of Humanitarian of the Year award at the Playboy mansion, after the Grammys. The ceremony was hosted by P Diddy and Hugh was given his award by Pamela Anderson. Founder of Angelwish said: "We are especially excited that we will get to honour Mr Hefner with our 'Humanitarian of the Year' award for all his charitable efforts over the years." To team with this good news, there is also some bad news for Hef. His eldest son was arrested for allegedly assaulting playmate Claire Sinclair. They are known to have a volatile relationship but we hear that police were called to their home after receiving a domestic-violence call. She suffered minor injuries, according to police, and Marston Hefner was taken into custody. He was later charged and released on bail. A few years ago, Marston spoke about his childhood and said: "Well, as a 15-year-old kid, seeing naked people occasionally, that's—it's just the lifestyle of growing up as Hugh Hefner's son, in his shadow. It's not a boo-hoo sob story. But it's not the same as every other kid."
