Eddie Redmayne thinks being a father is "extraordinary". The 'Danish Girl' actor and spouse Hannah welcomed daughter Iris into the world in June and he is loving every second of parenthood. He gushed: "Well, it's only seven weeks in, but it's amazing. It's wonderful. "All of the stuff you've heard for years, it's all true but utterly extraordinary." The 34-year-old actor is currently in Rio de Janeiro with his family after being invited to attend the Olympic Games by watch brand Omega, one of the event's sponsors and for whom he is a brand ambassador. And Eddie admitted he couldn't pass up the chance to be at the sporting spectacle. He said: "I've never been to South America. The notion of coming to Brazil and Rio was extraordinary. "And the idea of bringing Iris on her first trip abroad to the Olympics in Brazil was too much of an extraordinary opportunity to turn down." The 'Theory of Everything' star plans to take in a lot of events while he's in South America, and will be cheering on Team GB. He told HELLO! Online: "Jessica Ennis-Hill I think is formidable and a deeply inspiring human being. "Tom Daly is a neighbour of mine. We live quite close to each other in London. There was a documentary on him the other day showing the work he's been putting in since the last Olympic Games, and the kind of tenacity and drive I find mind-blowing. He's a lovely guy. "I love a bit of everything, so I'll be checking out the athletics, and also my wife is really into horse riding so we'll go for the equestrian as well. William Fox-Pitt I've heard has had an amazing year, having been in a coma for a month. And now to be here at the Olympic Games is a pretty dumbfounding story." But he and his family have also had time for sight-seeing and relaxation. He said: "We went up to the Christ the Redeemer and had a look over the city at night which was, for both my wife and I, unlike anything we'd ever seen. "But actually, all you need to do in Rio is just sit on Copacabana and let it all wash over you. In my case, apply a lot of sun cream! But generally, just try and take in the atmosphere by osmosis."
