Major Hollywood news, next year Denzel Washington is to be honoured with the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the Golden Globes. The acclaimed actor has been selected to receive the special accolade for his incredible movie career which has spanned four decades and included starring roles in Malcolm X, American Gangster, Paying tribute to Washington, Lorenzo Soria – President of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the body that organizes the awards – said: “It is our privilege to honour his contributions to the entertainment industry with the Cecil B. DeMille Award." Washington now joins a long list of big screen icons who have received the Cecil B. DeMille prize, including Barbra Streisand, George Clooney, and the late great Robin Williams. The Golden Globes will be hosted by the acclaimed Ricky Gervais.
