Here is an unimpressed Conor Maynard. Considering he’s meant to be the Uk’s answer to Justin Bieber, he really doesn’t have the constant cheesy smile that Bieber has! He should be happy as his latest single has just gone top 5 in the UK charts, but no, the 19 year old doesn’t seem in the bets of moods. Conor had performed over the weekend at London’s GAY and to get in the mood of the Olympics, his female dancers were all dressed in team GB swimming costumes. Conor doesn’t like being compared to Justin Bieber – despite the fact it is what everyone does. Conor said: "A lot of people had it in their minds that I was the next Justin Bieber. But I didn't want to follow anyone. I had to find out what kind of an artist I was, because I had never been in a studio, I hadn't even written a song. I had this motto: 'It's better to fail in originality than to succeed in imitation'." Yeah, he got all serious and ‘I’m an artist’ on us. He went on to say: "I wanted to put my own unique stamp on everything because that was how I was successful on YouTube. I took covers and switched them up and did it my own way, and people became a fan of me rather than a fan of the songs." Conor got a recording contract after being such a big YouTube hit. He has gone from making songs in his bedroom for the internet to now having his own album out. His debut album is called Contrast and comes out at the end of July.
