It’s always nice to hear about 2 females who work on a show who are genuinely friends – it’s not as interesting as if they’re enemies, but it’s a nice feeling we get when we hear that they actually like each other. Alesha Dixon – pop star and Amanda Holden – west end star – both are judges on Britain’s Got Talent and have been working together for the first time over the past series which has just ended. They apparently have become very close and genuinely like spending time together. There were the usual rumours at the start that thing were frosty between them, as apparently Amanda was wary at the start with her being a veteran on the show, and Alesha being the new girl. She was said to feel slightly frozen out by the producers of Britain’s Got Talent in favour of fresh meat Alesha. Amanda also had the stress of being pregnant at the beginning of the audition stages and also the stress of her complicated birth during the filming of the series, which cause her to miss a number of audition dates. We hear that Alesha ended up helping Amanda through all this and they now have a strong bond. Amanda Holden has described their relationship as a genuine friendship and Alesha has publically declared her love for Amanda Holden on a number of occasions recently. So, as much as we’d prefer them to be bitching about each other and tearing each other’s hair out, they are really not – and that’s nice. Simon Cowell has also clearly noticed this as during the live final for Britain’s Got Talent he said that he has had the most fun on a series yet – and also asked all the judges to return for the next series – that’s Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, David Walliams and himself. And no doubt he’ll probably give himself the biggest payrise!
