After the ladies settled into the I'm A Celebrity Jungle, the topic in Camp Shelia soon turned onto the men in their lives as Gillian asked Sheryl about her infamous past marriage.
Sheryl explains to Gillian how they met, “I was in a wine bar that was round the corner from where I lived. There was a big rowdy crowd of people, like guys. I should have known should I? He (Paul) was drunk, really drunk.”
Gillian then commented “You always get the warning but are you listening?”
Sheryl continued, “But he was so charming after that he was just lovely. I started falling for him, I thought ‘oh no I’m going to get hurt here’ because by then I realised there’s lots of girls around him and I thought ‘oh dear’. I tried to step away, stopped answering my phone and went away. When I came back he was like ‘I couldn’t believe it, I couldn’t get hold of you I don’t want to be in that situation again’ I just said ‘I just can’t be one of many I like you too much, I can’t be one of many.’ He was like ‘right that’s it I just don’t want anyone else, I just want you.”
A sympathetic Gillian replied, “What is it about footballer players, they seem to have this crazy situation with their personal lives.” Sheryl then commented, “Because they’re treated like gods aren’t they.”
The topic soon turned onto future partners as Gillian asked Sheryl if she would ever date another footballer. But Sheryl revealed, “Never in a million years, imagine another footballer being interested in me. I’ve told you I’m done with men, that’s it now. “
Earlier, whilst chatting to Stacey, Kayla, Britt, conversations turned to her love life and Sheryl admitted “I kept thinking I could sort him out and change him. The classic women. I’ll never love again like I loved my husband.”
Stacey offered words of encouragement, but Sheryl insisted, “No I won’t.”
