Shane Lynch

Shane Lynch

Shane Lynch has admitted that at one point in his career, he "hated Ronan Keating with a passion".

Speaking candidly in the new 'Boyzone at 20: No Matter What' ITV special, he and fellow band members revealed some of the reasons that led to their split.

Mikey Graham admitted to feeling "lost" in the band and not being sure as to where he "fitted in", while Keith found it hard to deal with not being "one of the popular ones".

Ronan himself said: "“I had to stand up for myself. If I’m honest, I worked harder than anyone else in the band. Non-stop. That’s part of the reason I went ‘Hang on a second. I’m gonna do this lads, and I’m ok about it, because I’ve been doing it anyway.’ And I think the lads knew that. I don’t think we’ve ever really actually openly said that to each other, but I’m saying it now."

The ITV special is hosted by Dannii Minogue and airs Friday December 13 at 9pm in support of the band's new album BZ20 - out now.
