Paul Hollywood says 'Great British Bake Off' has made him shed weight.

Despite tucking into a tasty selection of calorific treats in the shape of cakes and pastries courtesy of the BBC Two show's culinary contestants each week, the 'Bake Off' judge claims his role has actually helped him take off more than a stone over this year's proceedings.

Asked whether he worried about his weight, Paul - who works alongside Mary Berry on the show - said: "I don't! I stress out. I've lost a stone and a bit in the past eight months just through work. I tend to eat more in the day. In the evening I drink lots of water and try not to eat anything heavy after six o'clock."

The silver fox is set to front his own cooking show on BBC One, 'Paul Hollywood's Pies & Puds', and he is enjoying all the attention being on him.

He added to Radio Times magazine: "I love it, love it. 'Bake Off' is me as the judge who everyone knows and loves or hates. 'Paul Hollywood in Pies & Puds' is just me, the cheeky guy. It's my character coming out.

"In 'Pies & Puds' I'm talking down the barrel. I see my three mates sitting on a sofa. I talk to them. If I feel they're laughing, then I feel people at home will be laughing too."
