Olivia Attwood's fiance found out she had left 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' "in the news".
Professional footballer Bradley Dack - who plies his trade for Blackburn Rovers - has told how he hadn't spoken to the former 'Love Island' star when the news first broke on Monday (07.11.22) that she was forced to depart the jungle on medical grounds.
He told MailOnline: "She'll be gutted. I think she's fine, but I haven't spoken to her. I'm really not sure what's happened. I just saw it in the news, like anyone else. I'm waiting for a call."
It's now thought this year's series latecomers, former Health Secretary Matt Hancock and comedian Seann Walsh, could enter the jungle earlier than planned following Olivia's early departure, according to The Sun newspaper.
Olivia is expected to still be allowed to keep her fee for the show, believed to be between £100,000 and £125,000, but the star admitted last night she was "heartbroken" and insisted the situation was "beyond [her] control".
A spokesperson said on her Instagram Story: "To say Olivia is heartbroken would be an understatement. She dreamed of doing 'I’m A Celebrity' for years, and was absolutely loving every second of the show and throwing herself into jungle life feet first (just as we knew she would).
"However, for reasons beyond her control, her journey has been cut short."
'I'm A Celebrity' co-hosts Ant and Dec addressed Olivia's exit on last night's episode.
Dec said: "Unfortunately, Olivia Attwood has left the jungle for medical reasons and sadly won't be returning."
Ant added: "Now, she does feature in tonight's show, which was filmed before she had to leave. We’re very sad to see her go and we wish her well."
An 'I’m A Celebrity' spokesman said yesterday: "As a precautionary measure Olivia needed to leave the jungle to undergo some medical checks.
"Unfortunately the medical team has advised it is not safe for Olivia to return to camp as there needs to be a further investigation. She has been absolutely brilliant and she’ll be very much missed."
