Michelle Collins has asked for her 'Coronation Street' character not to be killed off ahead of a possible return.
The 51-year-old actress is to leave her role as Rovers Return landlady Stella Price next year, but has taken wants to have an option to reprise the part at some point in the future if she decides she wants to return to the cobbles.
She said: "I don't know [how I'm going], my exit storyline is eight months away, so they'll probably start planning that in October.
"I have asked them not to kill me off.
"You can never say never, situations change and circumstances change."
The blonde beauty can't believe it has nearly been three years since she stepped foot on the 'Corrie' cobbles, and while she will be sad to leave her co-stars, she is looking forward to spending more time with her daughter.
Speaking on 'This Morning', she added: "I'm leaving because by the time I do leave, which will be in April/May, I said I would probably stay for three years and my three years are up. It's gone so quickly, it's unbelievable.
"It's been fantastic, but I want to pursue other things. But fundamentally I want to be a mum again. [My daughter] Maia has two years left at school, she's just gone into the sixth form and I just need to be around more for her. She's going to go to uni.
"I had time off for her GSCEs which was great, but next year she'll choose a uni, that kind of thing, and it's so important. It's only me so I need to be there, I'm a single parent."
