The 61-year-old actress and her husband Sam Kane both suffered from the respiratory illness, and after making it through several days of hospitalisation, Linda has now taken aim at those who are going against the government advice to stay at home.

Linda wants to see those who are still throwing parties and enjoying the warm weather despite the UK being in lockdown fined as much as £500, with all the money collected from fines going toward helping the National Health Service (NHS), who are working to save lives.

Speaking on Sky News, Linda said: Those selfish people having parties, I think give them a blanket fine that goes to the NHS. Give them a £500 fine each when they're not keeping to the rules.

"The more people go out, the more people have parties and think 'let's play football, we're not going to get it', every time they go out they're prolonging the lockdown and prolonging the virus staying in this country.

"Don't give them a criminal record, hit them where it hurts and fine them £500 or go to their house and take something worth £500 and that should go straight to the NHS."

Since getting over the worst of the virus, Linda is "getting better every day", but said her lungs have not yet repaired "the damage they've sustained".

She added: "I'm getting there, getting better every day. This virus takes your lung capacity down so much that it take days and days or even weeks for your lungs to repair the damage they've sustained.

"It's been lovely to sit in garden and get some vitamin D and just to be alive really."

Earlier this week, Linda's husband Sam gave an interview in which he admitted both of them wanted to die during their battle with the virus.

He said: "We just looked at each other and said, 'Look, we can't take this anymore'.

"It was horrific. It was like the devil's hands were strangling me and holding me down and laughing in my face.

"It's the deepest, darkest place we've ever been.

"We just thought that if we don't wake up, it's not the end of the world."
