Jenny Eclair's mother has passed away.
The 62-year-old TV star has taken to Twitter to announce the passing of her mother June, and to pay a touching tribute to her.
Alongside a throwback photo of her mum, Jenny wrote on Twitter: "Oh June 1929 -3rd Jan 2023 - thank you for everything, we will miss you so much - we loved you so much. (sic)"
Jenny later thanked her followers for their supportive messages.
The stand-up comic also voiced her own support for other families who are currently "dealing with the realities and difficulties" of dementia.
She said: "Thank you everyone who has sent kind messages about June - I’ve been overwhelmed and very grateful.
"Dementia is a very s*** illness - so love to everyone who is dealing with the realities and difficulties of it right now. (sic)"
Jenny's 33-year-old daughter, Phoebe, has also shared the tweet on social media.
She added: "My grandma. June. Juney. Polio survivor, calliper wearer, who I got my nose from.
"Mean bridge player, reader of books, lover of crosswords. Dry and wry and not here for nonsense. Soup maker. I loved her very much. (sic)"
Meanwhile, Jenny previously opened up about her own experience of motherhood, describing it as an "endlessly fascinating, awful thing".
She added: "I think it’s really easy to get it more wrong than you ever imagined you could or, to be more precise, more wrong than you feel you have.
"I left a lot of the rearing of Phoebe to her brilliant nanny, Vanessa. It worked very well, but there are consequences and you’re a fool if you don’t face up to those consequences.
"For me, it means that I’m ten years behind with my mothering of my daughter because I basically didn’t do it until she was about 12."
