The 37-year-old comedian and her pro partner Karen Hauer departed the competition last weekend after losing out to Molly and Carlos Gu, and the star admits she knew the writing was on the wall against the singer and actress.

She said: "I just had this feeling that I was going to be in the dance off with Molly and Carlos … and I just knew if we were up against Molly and Carlos it was bye bye Jayde Adams, because I am a woman in her 30s whose got a reconstructed ACL babes! I did what I could, I did my best!"

Jayde and Karen performed a Charleston to Victoria Wood's 'The Ballad Of Barry and Freda (Let’s Do It)', and the star is "sorry" that she went out to the late comedy legend's tune.

She said: "It was amazing getting to do Victoria Wood. She’s been missed since 2016 and I got to do that on the BBC, it’s just incredible ... I’m mainly sorry that it wasn’t enough and I went out [of the competition] on her."

Karen admitted she couldn't have been "more proud" of Jayde during their 'Strictly' journey.

Speaking in a joint interview on 'Strictly - It Takes Two', she added: "We had everything in there, there was nothing else we could do!

"I was upside down most of the time, her swivels were great and it was just a little bit of everything. I couldn’t have been more proud of [Jayde], really!

"It’s been incredible we’ve had such good times, we’ve cried, we’ve laughed and we’ve enjoyed it ... we’ve had fun and that’s what I love that people have gotten from this.

"You [Jayde] have become a 'Strictly' icon and I’ve enjoyed every second of it."

'Strictly - It Takes Two' continues every weeknight at 6:30pm on BBC Two and Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturday and Sunday nights on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
