Love Island’s Davide Sanclimenti says his newfound fame hasn’t changed him.
The business owner rose to prominence after appearing on the latest series of the ITV2 dating show, which he won alongside girlfriend Ekin-Su Culculoglu.
Since leaving the Villa, the 27-year-old star has signed a six-figure deal with BoohooMan and featured on a huge billboard in Times Square during New York Fashion Week, and appeared alongside his girlfriend in travel series ‘Homecomings’, in which the pair embark on the trip of a lifetime in their home countries.
Speaking at the La Gioiosa Prosecco #AVeryItalianChristmas event at 100 Queen’s Gate, South Kensington, he exclusively told BANG Showbiz: “People know and recognise me on the streets but at the end of the day I’m still the same person as before.
“I’m still humble, I don’t think I’m better then someone else because I’m famous and people know me.
“It’s been easy to be myself even after Love Island, It’s been really easy to be myself as a lot of people loose themselves.
“My mum has been really good and teaching me the Italian values so I still feel the humble self that I was before.”
Ekin-Su recently admitted she would be up for moving to Italy with Davide when they are older and have had kids.
She said: "I just loved how romantic Italy was, especially where Davide’s from. If I was older, retired, had kids and they’d all grown up, I’d go to his hometown.
"It was beautiful. Italian culture is exactly the same as Turkish – family means everything. All the family are very loving, they love Davide, they love to see me. I really felt a part of the family and I miss them. I felt very looked after."
