Claude Littner wants to go on Love Island

The 'Apprentice' star, who is an aide of Lord Alan Sugar on the BBC business show, has joked he is in negotiations with ITV about appearing on the dating show, and admitted he is "really looking forward" to the Casa Amor stage of the programme.

Speaking on 'Good Morning Britain', he said: "I think they're after me. I think it's just a matter of negotiating the final terms and I'll be there.

"Casa Amor is something I'm really looking forward to getting into."

It's somewhat of a change of heart for 73-year-old businessman Claude, who is no stranger to a 'Love Island' rant.

In June 2018, Claude hit out at the ITV2 programme as "soul-destroying viewing" and blasted the contestants as "completely brainless".

Despite this, the star couldn't stop watching the launch episode that summer.

In a series of tweets, Claude wrote: "I’m going to take one episode at a time. It is soul destroying viewing, but I will not be deterred!

"Unfortunately it is a marathon and not a sprint. Honestly, I don’t know how much more of this I can bear. It is beyond doubt the worst tv programme.....and yet.....I am still watching!!

"I am watching, but not sure how much more of this unadulterated drivel I can take.

"It is appalling. Do you have the stomach for it? Not for the faint hearted!

"Love Island is a great talking point. It is that bad! (sic)"

In response to one fan who watched for just eight minutes, he replied: "You should have watched a bit longer. They are actually.....completely brainless and self obsessed. (sic)"

What's more, Claude has also previously played down comparisons between 'The Apprentice' and 'Love Island'.

Speaking in September 2018, he said: "I think that people want to look good on television and they want to present themselves and I think that the men and the women actually try and give their best image.

"So I think that you may make sort of comparisons with 'Love Island' I just think they want to look professional, glamorous and I think there's nothing wrong with that ... have a look at Karren [Brady] for example!"
