'The Chase' star - who appears on the hit quiz show as well as working as a practising barrister - has turned down offers for various shows, and while he was happy to appear on 'Don't Rock The Boat', he's selective about the style of programmes he'll appear on.

He told the Daily Star newspaper: "I do get the offers but I'm not a reality type of guy. I still practise as a barrister and there is a limit to what I will do.

"The last reality-type challenge I did was 'Don't Rock The Boat', and that was a physical challenge where myself and seven other celebs rowed the length of Britain.

"I'll do something like that but any other type of reality show is not really for me."

While fans aren't likely to ever see the 62-year-old star - whose nickname is the Dark Destroyer - on 'Strictly Come Dancing' or 'I'm A Celebrity', he did admit he'd have done 'Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins' earlier on in his career.

He added: "If 'Celebrity SAS' asked me five years ago I probably would have done it but not with my knees now."

While Shaun prioritises his legal career, he knows people will always recognise him from his TV appearances.

He explained: "One thing I don't do is take for granted being on 'The Chase' but I'm a barrister first and foremost.

"Yes, people recognise who I am - I can't help that fact - but I can't use my fame to get a required result. I can't change the evidence.

"I've been a barrister for 38 years, a Chaser for 13 years."

Meanwhile, following the success of the 'Beat The Chasers' spin-off at the National TV Awards last week, Shaun isn't ruling out the possibility of more twists on the format.

He teased: "Who knows what those brilliant minds that come up with the creatives for our show think?"
