The rapper, real name Darnell Brittingham, was being hunted by police in connection to a brutal stabbing last month - just hours after he was released on bail for drug charges.

According to Allhiphop.com police tracked Brittingham to a New York motel, where they followed him leaving in a taxi with an unidentified woman.

As police approached the car Brittingham reportedly ducked behind the driver’s seat and shot himself in the head.

Brittingham was the prime suspect in a 12 February New Jersey incident, which left one woman needing treatment for seven stab wounds.

The incident occurred just two days after the rapper was charged with manufacturing and intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance.
